Candle Care Guide
At noosh.studio, our candles are designed to be more than just a source of light; they are thoughtfully crafted pieces of art that bring warmth and beauty to your space. To ensure you enjoy your candles safely and to the fullest, we've outlined some care tips and instructions below.
Unboxing & Packaging
We care about the environment as much as we care about your experience with our candles. Our packaging peanuts are made from 100% cornstarch – simply dissolve them under water in your sink, and they’ll vanish without a trace, leaving no harm to the environment. All other packaging components can be recycled as paper waste.
General Candle Safety Guidelines
- Never leave a burning candle unattended – safety first.
- Keep candles out of reach of children, pets, and anything flammable.
- Always maintain a distance of at least 5-10 cm between burning candles.
- Ensure you're burning your candles in a well-ventilated space.
- Always make sure to place your candle on a heat-resistant surface/tray to avoid stains.
Dripping & Burning Tips
Due to the unique designs and composition of the natural wax our candles may drip during use, especially in rooms with airflow or drafts. Always burn them on a heat-resistant surface or tray to catch any wax drippings and enjoy witnessing how our designs transform into new shapes.
Special Care for all of our stick candles:
Due to the hardness of rapeseed wax, our stick candles (such as the Rylie Candles) might need a bit of adjusting to fit into smaller holders. Gently carve the base with a knife to ensure a snug fit, but be cautious to avoid cracking the wax. Never squeeze or force our candles into smaller candle holders (from other brands) since the bottom might break off due to its hard nature.
The Perfect First Burn
Before lighting your candle for the first time (and every time thereafter), trim the wick to less than 1 cm. This ensures a steady, calm flame and prevents smoke.
Allow the candle to burn for at least 1 hour on the first burn, or until the wax melts to the edge. This creates an even wax pool and prevents tunneling.
If the wick is too short after extinguishing, carve a small pool around it until it stands 5-10 mm above the wax.
Candle Aftercare & Storage
When not in use, keep your candle away from direct sunlight or heat sources to avoid warping, as rapeseed wax can be sensitive to extreme temperatures.
Natural rapeseed wax may develop a slight "frosting" over time, especially on darker-colored candles. This is a natural characteristic and doesn’t affect the quality or burn. Simply buff the surface with a soft cloth for a subtle shine or add a touch of vegetable oil for extra shine.
As a natural product, our candles may slightly change color as they age – it’s part of their charm. We believe that beauty lies in the uniqueness of every candle, and we hope you cherish yours as much as we do.
About Rapeseed Wax
Our candles are made from high-quality rapeseed wax, a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative that embodies our commitment to quality and care. Here’s what makes it special:
Sustainability
Rapeseed wax is derived from the rapeseed plant, which is widely grown in Europe, making it a renewable resource with a lower carbon footprint compared to other waxes. It's an environmentally conscious choice that aligns with noosh.studio’s values.
Longer Burn Time
Rapeseed wax has a harder, denser consistency, allowing our candles to burn slower and cooler than other waxes. This means you can enjoy your noosh.studio candle for longer.
Clean Burning
Our rapeseed wax candles produce minimal to no soot, ensuring a cleaner burn and maintaining indoor air quality.
Non-Toxic and Vegan:
Our candles are 100% vegan and non-toxic, crafted without any animal products or testing, making them a conscientious choice for your home.
